We are thrilled to announce the release of Glassbeam 4.2. – the latest version of our IOT platform.

For those new to GLASSBEAM – our Hyper scale platform, SCALAR, along with breakthrough Semiotic Parsing Language (SPL) is used by manufacturers of technology products to quickly extract strategic intelligence from operational data that gets called home from devices in the field.

In this release we have added some important capabilities:

1. A powerful new app that allows support users to view, organize, filter and group non-event sections within a log bundle. Sections thus organized can be saved for quick retrieval. This App allows users to view sections of interest, filter them by rows or columns, transpose views, group and order them in a way which is meaningful for the a specific problem and more importantly, save the view. This saved view can then be applied to any log bundle from any device, helping the support teams to quickly view the relevant parts of the log represented in a format that enabled quicker troubleshooting.

2. One of the most common problems support teams face when troubleshooting problems related to their customer’s device is changes in the device configuration. A change in the device’s configuration even though well intended could break something else and when multiple changes are being made on the system there is no way to track what caused the problem. GB 4.2 includes a new app called Config Diff that allows users to view difference across multiple logs on sections of interest, filter them by rows or columns, transpose views, group and order them in a way which is meaningful for the a specific problem and more importantly, save the view. This saved view can then be applied to any log bundle from any device, helping the support teams to quickly view the difference in relevant parts of the log represented in a format that enables quicker troubleshooting

3. We have added a new Rules and Alerts App that detects a known condition before you do!. Our real time Rules engine works on your complex machine data and allows you to set rules on every parsed element within your log. Rules can be set on various thresholds, trend based conditions and it can be applied not only on the time series data, but also non-time series data, like name value pairs, columnar data, XML, JSON or any other format.

4. We now support Archiving original logs for longer duration. Glassbeam’s LogVault is a one stop log archival solution that stores original log files as is and provides an intuitive user interface to filter and download logs of interest. The original log files can be archived for duration longer than the parsed data. LogVault supports both cloud-based and On-premise implementations. We integrate with Amazon S3 in the Cloud. For the On-premise implementation, we support setup of our LogVault on any file system.

And, there’s tons more. Check out the details of our release in our WHAT’S NEW section or simply GET IN TOUCH with us and start realizing the numerous benefits of mining machine data.
