Dimension Data selects Glassbeam’s machine data analytics solutions to optimize its global cloud data center operations

Glassbeam, Inc. the machine data analytics company, today announced that Dimension Data, a USD 6 billion global ICT services and solutions provider, has successfully deployed the Glassbeam platform to optimize its global enterprise-class cloud data center operations. Using Glassbeam to gain greater visibility into its IT infrastructure, Dimension Data has been able to analyze and predict capacity utilization to manage over 4000 clients spread across 25 global cloud data centers.

Dimension Data has domain expertise in networking, communications, security, data centers, end-user computing and core capabilities in consulting, integration, cloud, managed services and outsourcing. Monitoring and managing the lifecycle of all of the data center’s IT components and their interconnectivity is critical to aligning the supply of data center capacity to demands over long periods of time.

  • Capacity planning with virtual machines, storage, servers, and related IT infrastructure
  • Proactive notification on anomalies by setting rules on specific thresholds
  • Usage and security profiling by key accounts within a time window

Glassbeam’s advanced machine data analytics converts complex formats of multi-structured data from storage devices, networking equipment applications and backup solutions to profile capacity utilization across customers, detect and proactively notify anomalies by setting rules on specific thresholds, rate of change in CPU utilization etc. Leveraging its powerful Semiotic Parsing Language (SPL), Glassbeam’s platform can quickly extract operational information from disparate platforms and applications to provide insights to monitor and manage IT infrastructure assets in a data center.
