Company Summary:

Glassbeam Inc., is the first company to provide a cloud hosted software-as-a-service (SaaS) analytics solution for machine log data with the goal to help equipment manufacturers unlock the business value in the “call-home” data or in “support bundles” when escalations happen at the customer sites.

Product Summary:

Glassbeam SCALAR is a hyper scale cloud-based log and data analytics platform designed to organize and analyze unstructured and multi-structured machine data. SCALAR is powered by a parallel asynchronous engine that leverages Glassbeam's powerful and flexible domain specific language and open source Big Data components like Cassandra and Solr. The platform also includes a middleware and API layer, Infoserver, which is used to build standard and custom applications on the machine data. Besides Glassbeam SCALAR, other products include Glassbeam Explorer, Glassbeam Analytics and Glassbeam Studio. Explorer is an advanced multi-faceted search application that allows full text to parametric driven search on raw logs using Glassbeam core SPL™ technology. Analytics is reports, charts and dashboards that are either pre-defined for verticals (storage, wireless) or custom (based on end user needs). Studio is a GUI interactive development tool to allow developers, customers and partners to import raw logs and define meaning thru iterative SPL definition process.

Job Summary:

This role is primarily focused on pre-sales and post-sales operations working intimately with customers and prospects in North America. You will work closely with Sales organization to plan, manage and deliver on critical project milestones needed to drive revenues for the company. The job will involve a high degree of business consulting and technical discovery skills around product operational data (e.g. logs) collected from high technology devices installed at customer locations. This role will also demand a good understanding of business application environment in areas such as CRM, ERP, Bug Database, Knowledge data bases, and related engineering and support applications. To effectively deliver on sales goals, you must be able to articulate Glassbeam solution and overall implementation approach to various stakeholders at customer and partner organizations. You must be able to demonstrate Glassbeam products and services to customers on site, remotely via webinar sessions, and represent the company at field events such as conferences and trade shows. You must be willing to travel to visit prospects, partners and customers, and to engage in onsite customer/partner work when required.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated with a proven track record in project management and technical software sales. You must possess strong presentation skills and be able to communicate clearly and professionally. You need to be organized and analytical, and be able to overcome obstacles using creative and adaptive approaches. You will be based in the San Jose, CA office and will report to the Director, Technical Services. 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead technical presales activities.
2. Present solution overview to prospective clients.
3. Conduct discovery workshops, document requirements and build mockups for customer sign off.
4. Deliver PoCs and create statement of work for final proposal.
5. Translate business requirements to technical requirements and interface with development teams in India.
6. Create project plan and ensure delivery on time.
7. Create training collateral, conduct demonstrations and user workshops.
8. Drive weekly calls with all customers to ensure adoption and collect feedback for enhancements.
9. Build use case driven marketing collateral and blogs.
10. Conduct regular webinars focused on Glassbeam’s applicability in various business verticals. 

Key Qualifications:

1. 5-10 years relevant experience in selling and supporting software products to IT organizations.
2. Experience in successful startups in the areas of business analytics, log management, and system management is strongly preferred.
3. Understanding of the infrastructure market segment especially in the context of operational data like logs for storage, wireless, networking, or medical devices.
4. Ability to work in a distributed team environment with engineering teams located in Bangalore, India.
5. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
6. Familiarity with enterprise applications such as CRM, ERP, Bug tracking and Knowledge databases.
7. Self-motivated, self-educating with a willingness to work collaboratively with both customers and fellow Glassbeamers.
8. Strong experience administering and monitoring enterprise operating systems, including Linux and Windows.
9. Development experience which includes working with Perl, shell scripting, XML, regular expressions, SQL, and HTML/Javascript.
10. Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.

UI Developer

The Role

Glassbeam is looking for a UI Developer to join our team .The UI developer is responsible for converting visual stories crafted for data representation into world class user interfaces.  S/he develops modern web based user interfaces based on user experience and UI Design produced by a web designer. You will work collaboratively with external UI Designers and backend engineers responsible for generating the datawarehouse. You will be building Ajax based functionalities like file viewer, JS based graphing components to plot graphs & charts and manipulating data returned through Ajax calls and presenting it using JS.

  • Build, test, deploy and maintains production UI code for complex web applications
  • Elegantly implement page designs in standards-compliant dynamic XHTML, CSS and HTML5.
  • Implement functionality in JavaScript using Ajax Frameworks like Dojo or JSON-RPC
  • Build client side UI using MVC based JS frameworks like ember.js,angular.js, knockout.js etc.
  • Collaborate with the design team to define the information architecture, advocating Web interaction design best practices with a focus on consistency and usability.

QA Engineer

The Role

We are looking for experienced QA Engineer to join our QA team in Bangalore to test our analytics apps, Search applications, Data loads and other infrastructure and application components. The QA Engineer will play a key role as an engineer for testing industry leading machine learning products. This position requires extensive collaboration with multiple teams and works cross functionally on agile scrum Teams.

  • 2-4 years of Manual Testing and test planning experience
  • Experience of using test management tools like testlink or similar
  • Working knowledge on Linux.
  • Experience of having worked in scrum teams and usage of tools like Rally or Yodiz or similar
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, able to present ideas and information clearly.
  • Must be proficient and comfortable at problem diagnosis, troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Possess the ability to be a self-driven quick learner with attention to details and quality.

Automation Engineer

The Role

We are looking for test automation superstars to join us build and enhance our test automation framework. You should be a test automation developer/engineer with an experience of 2-4 years of experience in test automation or development. Key responsibilities include: test planning, identifying test cases/scenarios, test data identification/planning and setting up, automating test cases in a data driven style by building reusable components and enable continuous integration. Expertise in few or more of the following is required: proficient in java to write complex test cases with a keen eye on code organization, write test scripts using selenium and TestNG frameworks, Jenkins continuous integration tool, data base handling(querying and programmatic access), strong file IO and regex among other general software development fundamental skills.

DevOps Engineer

The Role

Glassbeam is seeking a smart DevOps engineer with strong Amazon Web Services experience. In this role, you’ll work collaboratively with software engineering to deploy and operate our SaaS platform. You will automate and streamline our operations and processes, build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring and operations. You will also be responsible for automating the complete deployment, so that we can bring up or down the whole stack in a very short time.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  1. Automate, streamline all deployment activities
  2. Monitor all production instances for incidents and trends
  3. Implement best practices to ensure for an always-up, always-available service
  4. Ensure the SaaS environment follows all the best practices of security and is attack proof.
  5. Optimize cloud infrastructure to reduce TCO
  6. Work closely with Engineering to understand changes in each release and keep all tools up-to-date to ensure automated deployments
  7. Plan, execute all planned downtimes for upgrades, maintenance activities etc
  8. Own up all infrastructure related troubleshooting during unplanned outages
  9. Escalate and communicate issues timely and thrive to seek quick resolution

Our Ideal Candidate

Qualifications:

Bigdata / Senior Bigdata Engineer

The Role

We are currently seeking an experienced software engineer to build new functions, features and improving performance, scalability of Glassbeam’s technology platform. The platform consists of a domain specific language implemented as a SCALA based compiler. The language exposes high-level constructs to help parse unstructured data (log files) and define/create a data warehouse in a NoSQL based data store Cassandra. The technology is deployed on the cloud on Linux virtual servers.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Understanding of pros, cons, speed, applicability of collections (container classes)
  • Deep understanding of threading model or Actor model, distributing processing (multiple cores, and multiple nodes)
  • Knowledge of Distributed database system, e.g. Cassandra, HBase
  • Strong knowledge of Regular expressions (Scala)
  • Knowledge of Java, POJO (non-EJB)
  • Knowledge of technologies such as JDK 1.7, 32 & 64 bitCentOS (or Redhat) 6, or Ubuntu 12..04
