Sales Director

Glassbeam, a division of Orchesys, Inc., is the first company to provide a software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution for product analytics – an automated, highly visual solution to help equipment manufacturers unlock the business value of product operational data that is routinely collected by the manufacturers either as "call-home" data or as "support bundles" when escalations happen at the customer sites.

Job Summary
We are currently seeking an experienced sales executive who could join an exciting start-up team to lead the sales strategy and build upon the current market momentum with existing customers and vertical markets (storage, wireless networking and medical). This position requires the ability to identify, qualify and close enterprise sales opportunities at the executive management level. This person must penetrate new divisions and organizations within the assigned accounts, use sales management techniques to develop and maintain new business relationships, offer business proposals to prospective customers, create account management plans, and provide regular sales status reports to management and Board of Directors. The position will be based in the Sunnyvale, CA offices and will report to the CEO.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

• Build and maintain sales funnel for rolling 12 month period to meet / exceed revenue targets
• Manage complete sales process for assigned verticals and markets including lead generation, qualification, evaluation, proposal, negotiation, closure and on-going account management
• Track customer and transactional information into web-based system, logging all sales activity within the established processes, and keeping account information current and accurate
• Coordinate cross functional resources with engineering and solutions team located in US and India to effectively deliver results in sales cycle process
• Establish strategic relationships at all levels within the assigned accounts and manage cross functional selling process to effectively close business deals
• Provide regular forecasts to the management of current and pipeline opportunities

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of experience selling enterprise software to businesses, preferably with SaaS models
• Recent successful sales experience with application software such as business analytics, business intelligence, CRM, SCM, PLM, etc.
• Start-up experience a plus with demonstrated ability in building sales from ground zero
• Hi technology manufacturing vertical experience a plus in markets related to storage, servers, networking, medical devices etc.
• Success with solution selling and consultative sales techniques are essential
• Ability and willingness to be an individual contributor with demonstrated ability in hiring, managing and building high performing sales team in future
• Consistent over-achievement recognition
• Bachelors degree or equivalent

OLAP Database and Reporting Analysis/Design Engineer

To support our rapid growth, we are seeking an experienced database design and reporting engineer. A successful candidate will be able to work with and take direction from senior members of our engineering team to develop a high performance support automation tool set. This position will touch many aspects of our product design, but will primarily focus on database schema design, data warehousing, OLAP database design, reporting and report infrastructure development.

Responsibilities
Responsible for all aspects of data warehousing reporting, including definition of initial functional requirements, maintaining project plans, detailed design, implementation, validation, post release sustaining engineering and product evolution activities.

• Recommend strategy and tools for building a world class data analysis and reporting infrastructure
• Analyze and design OLAP cubes on complex data warehouse schemas
• Design/author reports on data warehouse OLAP cubes using various commercial tools
• Administer and own reporting solutions
• Comply with team standards through participation in design and code reviews
• Develop and manage detailed production and ad-hoc reports, dashboards and reporting systems

Qualifications
Mandatory qualifications include:

• Expert-level data modeling and schema design
• Expert-level OLAP design experience
• Strong practical knowledge of SQL and scripting such as PERL
• Strong practical knowledge of analytics and reporting tools
• Strong practical knowledge of developing advanced reports using commercial tools such as MS-Access, Cognos (api), MS-Excel, Crystal Reports, etc.
• Ability to create innovative reports using a variety of compelling data representation techniques
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Previous experience working on a fast-paced development project touching all areas of design, development, testing and customer deployment
• Ability to take direction from senior engineers and turn that into high quality development deliverables while adhering to an aggressive product delivery schedule

Education
Bachelor’s degree, foreign equivalent, or any combination of education and experience that equates to a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field.
