Technical Account Manager

Job Summary
Technical Account Manager is primarily focused on pre-sales and post-sales operations working intimately with customers and prospects in North America. You will work closely with Sales organization to plan, manage and deliver on critical project milestones needed to drive revenues for the company. The job will involve a high degree of business consulting and technical discovery skills around product operational data (e.g. logs) collected from high technology devices installed at customer locations. This role will also demand a good understanding of business application environment in areas such as CRM, ERP, Bug Database, Knowledge data bases, and related engineering and support applications.

To effectively deliver on sales goals, you must be able to articulate Glassbeam solution and overall implementation approach to various stakeholders at customer and partner organizations. You must be able to demonstrate Glassbeam products and services to customers on site, remotely via webinar sessions, and represent the company at field events such as conferences and trade shows. You must be willing to travel to visit prospects, partners and customers, and to engage in onsite customer/partner work when required.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated with a proven track record in project management and technical software sales. You must possess strong presentation skills and be able to communicate clearly and professionally. You need to be organized and analytical, and be able to overcome obstacles using creative and adaptive approaches.

You will be based in the Sunnyvale, CA office and will report to the head of Sales.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
  • As TAM for specific accounts, own the complete responsibility in discovering, defining and documenting the technical and business requirements for performing a POC project and implementing a production solution.
  • Act as the key liaison between the prospect and sales & engineering team(s) at Glassbeam to be the project and program manager for all prospect discussions.
  • Plan and execute hosting operations' activities for POC or production deployments working closely with the hosting partner.
  • Manage go-live schedules and ensure all infrastructure and Glassbeam platform & applications are deployed in the hosting center.
  • Plan, build and implement training programs to drive increased usage and adoption of Glassbeam at customer sites.
  • Own part of sales quota for up-sell and cross-sell opportunities at existing customers, working closely with sales and engineering teams at Glassbeam.
  • Implement and manage regular communication schedules between customers and Glassbeam US and India teams.

Qualifications
  • 5-10 years relevant experience in selling and supporting software products to IT organizations.
  • Experience in successful startups in the areas of business analytics, log management, and system management is strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of the infrastructure market segment especially in the context of operational data like logs for storage, wireless, networking, or medical devices.
  • Ability to work in a distributed team environment with engineering teams located in Bangalore, India.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with enterprise applications such as CRM, ERP, Bug tracking and Knowledge databases.
  • Self-motivated, self-educating with a willingness to work collaboratively with both customers and fellow Glassbeamers.
  • Strong experience administering and monitoring enterprise operating systems, including Linux and Windows.
  • Development experience which includes working with Perl, shell scripting, XML, regular expressions, SQL, and HTML/Javascript.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.

Dashboard & Reporting Engineer

Job Summary
The Dashboard & Reporting Engineer is responsible for data analysis using a development oriented tool for web based reports and dashboards based on customer requirements and data coming out of a data warehouse. You will work collaboratively with SPL developers responsible for generating the custom data in the warehouse, and with web designers responsible for creating visual interfaces which make the data meaningful.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Program SQL queries to retrieve large datasets from databases in order to identify and evaluate trends, plot charts and create analytical tabular reports.
  • Design SQL queries for optimum performance over large datasets.
  • Support ad-hoc SQL query requests from customers for analytics.
  • Perform ongoing data validation and testing to ensure data integrity and reliability.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to build useful, well-designed interactive reports and dashboards.
  • Use a development oriented tool to develop web based reports and dashboards.

Qualifications
  • Strong Relational Database experience. You should be able to Suggest DB design changes for optimum performance.
  • Strong Relational OLAP concepts.
  • Experience in formulating a query workflow from a data request.
  • Experience with database reporting tools and packages such as LogiXML, Crystal Reports, Business Objects or any other tool is mandatory.
  • Two-to-three years of relevant professional work experience.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently. Commitment to high quality, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Web 2.0 design principles a strong plus.

Information Designer

Job Summary
The Information Designer is responsible for identifying and crafting visual stories based on data from complex datasets. S/he creates interfaces and visual solutions that make data accurate, clear, insightful, and compelling. You will work collaboratively with SPL developers responsible for generating the data warehouse and reporting engineers preparing the reports and dashboards.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Create interesting interfaces/design solutions that make data useful, accessible, and meaningful.
  • Define the message to be visually told from complex and vast datasets.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to build useful, well-designed interactive graphics and experiences.
  • Prepare management reports to effectively communicate and explain complex information, define and evaluate problems, identify underlying facts or trends, and present conclusions or recommendations.
  • Own the web & user experience of the reports & dashboards generated through web based tools such as LogiXML, Business Objects, Crystal Reports etc.

Qualifications
  • Proficiency in interaction and graphic design tools and presentation software.
  • Must have worked in web based software development projects.
  • Excellent knowledge of HTML, Ajax, Web 2.0 design concepts.
  • Expertise in HTML, Javascript, CSS.
  • Familiarity with database reporting tools and packages such as LogiXML or any other tool is a plus.

Software Engineer (UI)

Job Summary
We are currently seeking an experienced software engineer who could join our engineering team to build new functions and features in Glassbeam?s Web based Analytic front end. The interface is built in Adobe flash and uses back end PERL scripts for data access. It also uses a data warehouse built on a SQL compliant columnar database. The application is hosted on the cloud on Linux virtual servers.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Maintain the web based analytic application
  • Build new functions and features
  • Work closely with professional services team to understand requirements
  • Interact with customers to clarify requirements
  • Own the development and testing within Glassbeam?s development process framework
  • Write efficient PERL CGI, Action Script, SQL code based on requirements

Qualifications
  • Expert-level PERL programming experience with strong emphasis on complex regular expressions
  • Expert-level PERL CGI and web technologies (Javascript, Ajax, XHTML, DHTML, CSS, Web 2.0 user interfaces) experience.
  • Expert-level Flash, Action Script experience.

QA Engineer

Job Summary
We provide analytic software, and your primary role will be to verify and ensure that the statistical data presented through the application is correct. This would require you to look into the source of the data (log files) and verify it against the database (through SQL). You will be responsible for writing test cases and executing them. You will work closely with development team on identification and troubleshooting of critical issues. We're looking for great communication skills and extensive white-box testing experience.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
  • White-box QA testing experience
  • Scripting experience Perl, Shell
  • Writing test plans and test cases
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting and analysis skills
  • Experience with and understanding of databases (Oracle, SQL)
