Kumar Malavalli Kumar Malavalli
Founder & Chairman

Kumar Malavalli is widely considered to be the visionary behind Fiber Channel storage fabrics, an evolutionary technology that enabled the development of production-class Storage Area Networks (SANs), a multi-billion dollar market segment.

In February 2003, he was inducted into the Silicon Valley Engineering Council Hall of Fame for his contributions to technology. He received the Gene Milligan Award for Effective Committee Management from the International Committee for Information Technology Standards (INCITS) for chairing an INCITS committee that developed 17 standards in the area of Storage Area Networks. Kumar is also a member of the board of trustees of The America India Foundation, founded by leading Indian-American business and community leaders.

Chris Liotta Chris Liotta
Board Member

Chris Liotta brings to the Glassbeam Board of Directors over 20 years of experience in high-growth services, and technology companies. As General Manager and Senior Vice President of Network Appliance, Chris led the Content Delivery Business Unit to number one market share position, built the foundation for NetApp’s current Global Services organization and shattered industry measurements for customer satisfaction. Prior to joining NetApp, Chris built the service and support organization for Clarify, Inc. and helped the company grow from a fledgling start up to over 100 million in revenue. Earlier in his career, which started at ROLM prior to the IBM merger, Chris was with Aspect Telecommunications, where he held various worldwide sales and service positions, from pre-IPO stage to over 100 million in revenue. Chris holds a BA degree in Psychology and Economics from UC San Diego and an MBA from UC Berkeley.

Raj Parekh Raj Parekh
Board Member

Raj Parekh is a veteran of silicon valley and is well known for his leadership and vision as a senior executive at leading high technology companies. Raj is currently Executive Chairman and Co-founder at Virident Systems. Raj also co-founded and managed Redwood Venture Partners (Redwood), a venture capital firm located in Silicon Valley. At Sun Microsystems he served as CTO and Vice President of Engineering for all system products, and as VP and General Manager of Java Products for Sun Microsystems Microelectronics. Before joining Sun, Raj was Vice President and General Manager at Silicon Graphics where he managed all chip development including the highly successful SGI "Geometry Engine" and several system products.

Raj has designed and managed the commercialization of over 100 chips in a variety of technologies and markets. He has also led software development in environments ranging from real time embedded to distributed multi-computing in a wide range of systems. In addition, he has led sales, marketing, OEM channels, and divisions within large multi-national companies. Raj holds several U.S. patents and awards for his accomplishments. He received his Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) degree from L.D. College of Engineering, India, and a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Polytechnic Institute of New York.

Puneet Pandit Puneet Pandit
Founder & Director

Puneet Pandit brings to Glassbeam over eighteen years of global experience in the IT industry. He is responsible for setting company direction and creating a global services organization with a focus on delivering solutions in data management space.

Prior to founding Glassbeam, Puneet was Senior Director, Marketing at Network Appliance (NetApp) leading Database solutions group. His storage industry experience is well complemented with client delivery experience as strategy and IT consultant at global organizations such as Ernst & Young and Tata Unisys Limited. Puneet is a graduate of MBA school at University of Chicago and holds a BE Electrical degree from Punjab University, India.
